My garden is a container garden that I keep primarily on my balcony. When I can get my hands on a digital camera I'll try to include some pictures. At the moment, it consists of
- A 14" pot holding 5 kinds of lettuce, spinach, parsley, and a strawberry plant. It requires watering almost every day, often even if there is rain, but it's been doing well and providing me with plenty of fresh salad!
- A 8" pot with a rosemary plant that I kept through the winter from last year. I transplanted it this year into it's new pot and it's doing well.
- A long window box which has some wildflowers, marigolds, and an oregano plant that made it through the winter indoors. I thought the oregano was dying, but getting it back outside it's perked up and doing well, so it is coexisting with the wildflowers.
- A Elegance Burgandy Regal Gernanium. I picked this up a few weeks ago from the CSA that I belong to. It was flowering, but the flowers have died.
- A very small pot with cilantro. It almost died once a few weeks ago, but has come back and growing well.
- Two strawberry pots with various herbs in them. Eventually I'll outline them all.
- A 14" pot with orange mint and spearmint. The orange mint was started last year and kept in the house through the winter. The spearmint is new this year and doing well.
- A pot with some type of bulb. I don't know what kind and it's never flowered. It was a gift for Mother's Day last year.
- 7 small starter pots with 3 sweet basils, 1 lavendar, 1 cilantro and 2 cumin. All will be transplanted or given away eventually. All were started from seeds except the lavendar that I picked up from the CSA yesterday. One of my basils previously died, so I started two new ones yesterday.
It rained quite a bit last night, so all my plants (including the lettuce for a change) are well watered and don't need any today. I also harvested some of the lettuce and herbs and gave them to my folks last night.
